So, this is our Valentine to them. I’m including a small write up of how they were done wrong, below the polish description. Feel free to skip it. There’s no quiz 😉

WITHOUT FURTHER ADO – THE 2024 WOMEN DONE WRONG COLLECTION!

Enheduanna is a gold flakie bomb with accents of blue, green and red. I only used colors available in ancient Egypt to harken the look of those beautiful and colorful tombs.

Enheduanna is the world’s first known author. She was an Egyptian/Mesopotamian author who lived from 2285-2250 BC. That’s more than 4000 years ago, and more than 2000 years BEFORE Jesus Christ. The third millennium was a time of upheaval in Mesopotamia. The conquest of Sargon the Great saw the development of the world’s first great empire. The city of Akkad became one of the largest in the world, and northern and southern Mesopotamia were united for the first time in history.

In this extraordinary historical setting, we find the fascinating and important woman Enheduanna, Enheduanna is an ancient triple threat if you will. She was a princess, a priestess as well as a writer and poet. Enheduanna’s works form an important part of literary history and she was the first to write fictional stories to create characters and the architect of poetry. Further, she is credited with creating the paradigms of poetry, psalms, and prayers used throughout the ancient world which led to the development of the genres recognized in the present-day literature like biographies, science fiction, mythology, and autobiographies. Scholars say her influence during her lifetime was as impressive as her literary legacy. Entrusted by her father with great responsibility, Enheduanna not only exceeded those expectations but changed the entire culture.

So how was she done wrong? Well, she is literally the mother and creator of literature as we know it today. Until she started writing fiction, and poetry it didn’t exist! The only writing anyone did was historical/factual/journaling. Think about that… every story you’ve heard or read, every poem or every book you’ve loved exists because she created the medium, to create something so historically important to the world at large but how many people know her name?
